John is a third-generation Moorestown resident and a 1992 graduate of Moorestown High School — this isn't a town he moved to. It's the only one he's known.

After earning an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, John began his law enforcement career with the Sea Isle City Police Department and the Burlington County Sheriff's Department before joining the Moorestown Police Department in 1998.

Over 26 years with MPD he served as a Juvenile Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and Administrative Lieutenant — spending 13 years working directly with kids, families, schools, and community organizations before retiring in 2023.

He didn't stop there. John went on to serve as a School Resource Officer in Lumberton Township, worked as a Child Protective Investigator with the NJ Department of Children and Families, and currently serves as an investigator with the State of New Jersey.

He and his wife, Tara, raised their family in Moorestown — coaching youth sports, supporting local clubs, and staying involved. Their children, Leo and Mazey, are Moorestown High School graduates now pursuing academic and athletic success in college.
